We have financial assistance available for patients who qualify. Our primary source of funding is through the National Abortion Federation (NAF) Hotline Fund. In some cases, we can also assist patients in obtaining financial assistance through other abortion funds.
If you have concerns about your ability to pay the full fee, please let us know, and we will be happy to assist you. (It is good to consider that after 11 weeks, the cost of an abortion increases each week. So the sooner you can come for care, the smaller the fee will be.)
Please call AWC or request an appointment, and one of our telephone counselors will determine your eligibility.
AWC participates with most major insurance companies (see list below). Many insurance plans cover abortion care services.
Please provide your insurance coverage information when you initially call for information about our services. We will contact your insurance company in advance of your appointment to verify coverage for our services and to determine any financial liability on your part. The information we receive from your insurance carrier is only an estimate; their final determination will be made upon receipt of a claim for your services.
Note: Pennsylvania Medicaid will cover abortion services ONLY in the case of rape, incest, or threat to a pregnant person’s life. Prior authorization is necessary; forms can be obtained from Allentown Women’s Center.
